Summer !

Hard to believe summer is already here and the hot temperatures here in Missouri are proof....along with a healthy dose of humidity!

Carving for most of the seasons is what I love the most about woodcarving and since it is June, it's time to work on pumpkins and other fall items. Pumpkins are a fun and easy piece to carve since they don't have to be perfect and even having some "imperfections" in the wood adds to the uniqueness of the pumpkin.

Pumpkins with faces are even more fun since you can really get creative with not much difficulty. You will use plenty of stop cuts and the eyes can change the entire look of the pumpkin. Add a spider or maybe just a hole somewhere with eyes looking out to make it even more unique.
